Grimmy is growing - but slowly
Date published: 02 August 2013
ROYTON’s Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw has grown his breakfast show audience — but is still almost four million listeners behind his Radio 2 rival Chris Evans.
The DJ - known as “Grimmy” replaced Chris Moyles last year and has seen his average audience climb to 5.88 million, up from 5.78 million in the first quarter of the year.
But this is still less than Radio 4’s flagship news programme “Today” whose average audience is almost seven million, and way behind Evans on 9.75 million.
The previous figures showed Grimshaw’s average audience had dropped by 950,000 listeners in the six months since he took over the show from Chris Moyles.
