Supermodel Elson wins restraining order

CHADDERTON-born supermodel Karen Elson has filed a restraining order against rock-star hubby Jack White.

Elson said she feared for her own and her children’s safety after claiming the White Stripes singer had threatened her several times.

The couple married in an unusual ceremony in a canoe on the Amazon River in 2005 and have two sons. They separated in 2011. Elson filed for divorce last year.

In this latest move, the former North Chadderton School pupil was granted a temporary restraining order by a judge pending a court hearing on August 29.

Elson (34) said in the filing that White has a violent temper, sends her emails laced with profanity and calls her derogatory names.

A publicist for White, whose White Stripes band shot to fame with hits such as “Seven Nation Army” and “The Hardest Button to Button” made no comment.

Striking model Elson made her name as a teenage model in 1996, with her flame-red hair and gangly looks.

She modelled for the top names in haute couture fashion, including Chanel, before she married White.

In 2008 the supermodel-turned-mum became the new face for John Lewis fashion and flew to Britain from her Tennessee home to front the company’s £1.5 million, biggest-ever advertising campaign
