Scam man handed suspended sentence

A CHADDERTON man has been sentenced for his part in a multi-million pound immigration scam.
Wahidur Rahman (46), of Eustace Street, was given a six-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months after he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration and conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation.
Rahman is chief executive of a training agency in Oldham and was supplying false documents for the operation which was masterminded by Talakdar Ataur Rahman, a shopkeeper from Hyde, who was selling documents for up to £14,000 a time.
Eight people were sentenced at Manchester Crown Court for their parts in the scam.
