Fewer households go bankrupt
Date published: 09 August 2013
THE number of Oldhamers going bankrupt or entering formal insolvency procedures is at its lowest for five years.
New figures show that in 2012 there were 22.9 individual insolvencies for every 10,000 Oldham adults - down from 27.5 at their peak in 2009 and almost five points below the North-West regional figure of 27.7.
The figures include people going bankrupt, those in Individual Voluntary Arrangements or Debt Relief Orders.
