Oldham bus driver Jason Gartside has won the regional heat of Stagecoach’s Bus Driver of the Year competition.
Jason, who has worked at the Ashton depot for a year, will represent the company at the national finals in Blackpool next month.
Jason’s win came after theory and practical driving rounds — including manoeuvring a bus within inches of hazards such as eggs and driving without spilling a jug of water on the dashboard.
Christopher Bowles, managing director of Stagecoach Manchester, said: “Stagecoach companies have supported this national competition for over 40 years. I would like wish to Jason, Clive and Carl the best of luck in the finals.”
