RELATIVES of former Far East prisoners of war met at Oldham war memorial last night to commemorate the sacrifice of their family members during conflicts.
Flags were dipped by members of the Oldham Liaison of Ex-Servicemen Welfare Fund members and a minute’s silence, followed by a small memorial service to mark the 68th anniversary of Victory in Japan (VJ) Day on August 15.
