TOP PUPIL . . . Beth Bowker
A-LEVELS: HULME Sixth Form pupils have excelled in their A-levels with top grades for 63.5 per cent of pupils - 4.5 per cent more than last year.
The overall pass rate was 99 per cent; 11 per cent achieved at least one A* grade.
Beth Bowker led the way, winning a place at Oxford with 4A*s and 2As, while Nikesh Mistry obtained 2A*s and 2As.
Beth studied chemistry, physics, geography, maths, further maths and general studies and will study earth sciences from September.
She said: “I’m glad the wait is over and I’m just looking forward to getting started. I’m really excited.”
Edward Fisk attained As in chemistry, physics and maths and will be studying chemical engineering at Loughborough.
He said: “I’m so happy with my results, they were better than I was expecting, now I just can’t wait to begin.
Andrew Bancroft studied physics, maths and geography, achieving an A* and two As and will study aeronautical engineering at Chester.
