Demolition marks start of £16m college revamp

THE demolition of Oldham College’s six-storey tower block is under way.
The demolition of Walton Tower is part of an ambitious project that will give students a state-of-the-art, £7 million building in Rochdale Road. There will also be a £9 million science, engineering and digital technology building.
While construction takes place, lessons will be held in 28 temporary classrooms.
