HULME Grammar school’s sixth formers have excelled in their A-levels.
Students have boosted the top grade pass rate by 4.5 per cent over last year, to an impressive 63.5 per cent.
The overall pass rate was 99 per cent, of which 11 per cent achieved at least one A* grade.
Beth Bowker led the way, winning a place at Oxford with 4A*s and 2As; while Nikesh Mistry obtained 2A*s and 2As.
Beth studied chemistry, physics, geography, maths, further maths and general studies and will study earth science at Oxford in September.
Edward Fisk attained As in chemistry, physics and maths and will be studying chemical engineering at Loughborough. He said: “I’m so happy with my results, they were better than I was expecting, now I just can’t wait to begin.
Andrew Bancroft studied physics, maths and geography, achieving an A* and two As and will be studying aeronautical engineering at Chester, supported by Airbus.
