Pennine Acute NHS Trust’s new chief nurse, Mandie Sunderland
OLDHAM has a new chief nurse, Mandie Sunderland.
Originally from Rochdale, Ms Sunderland has chosen the title chief nurse rather than the Director of Nursing title used by previous incumbent Marian Carroll, who leaves at the end of the month.
Ms Sunderland has been chief nurse at the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust for five years.
She has since worked in chief nurse posts in Lancashire and the Midlands and at the NHS Executive in London.
Ms Sunderland said: ““I am a strong believer in the old fashioned standards that patients expect to see from nursing care and I am looking forward to spending time on the wards.
“I know there are many fantastic nurses working within Pennine Acute and I am committed to working with them to raise even higher the standard of care they provide.”
