MOMENT of truth . . . Saddleworth School pupils with their results
GCSE RESULTS: SADDLEWORTH School is celebrating record GCSE results.
A total of 76 per cent of pupils achieved the Government’s gold standard of five A* to C grades, including English and maths - up significantly from last year.
Thirty six per cent of teenagers also attained the EBacc, grade Cs or better, in English, maths, a language, history or geography, and the sciences.
High achievers included Beth Roberts (16), from Greenfield, who notched up nine A*s.
Joe Hood from Springhead received eight A*s, and two AS-levels in critical thinking and additional maths.
Delighted head teacher Matthew Milburn said: “The results achieved by these pupils are absolutely fantastic, the best the school has ever known. They speak of the ambition and hard work of our students as well as the support and care provided by families and colleagues at school.”
