GCSE: EMMA Helm’s hopes of one day ruling the country were given a boost thanks to her impressive GCSE results.

The ambitious Radclyffe School pupil got eight A*s and an A and will now go to Oldham Sixth Form College to study politics, Spanish, English literature and history.

When BBC show “Question Time” was filmed at the Hunt Lane school in Chadderton last year, Emma told host David Dimbleby she would one day be Prime Minister.

She said: “I am so relieved. I was predicted seven A*s so to get an extra one is brilliant. I am hoping to study journalism at Cambridge after my A-levels and then I will start on my mission to become Prime Minister!”

Blind Fahima Begum used Braille to take all her exams - and is delighted with her eight A*-C grades.

She said: “I didn’t think I would achieve these results so it is a lovely feeling. All my revision paid off and I did so much work.”

Head girl Sarah-Jane Callender got five A*s and four As and will now do A-levels in English literature, drama, maths and chemistry at Blue Coat Sixth Form.

She said: “I am absolutely over the moon. I am the first person in my family to go to college so I am going to make the absolute most of it.”

Head teacher Hardial Hayer said: “We are delighted with the fabulous results our students have achieved. We are proud of their dedication and commitment over the past five years that has now been richly rewarded.”
