GCSE: WATERHEAD Academy is delighted with its pupils’ results.
Sixty-three per cent per cent received five or more A*-C GCSEs regardless of the subject and 45 per cent achieved five or more A*-C GCSEs including maths and Enlgish,
Six students gained 10 A*s and As.
Head girl Neelam Khan achieved 15 GCSEs, with eight A*s, seven As and a BTEC in art.
She said: “I’m just really pleased, I’ve put in a lot of had work for this.”
Proud dad Mohammed said: “I’m over the moon. She’s always up in her room studying and never comes downstairs.”
Neelam will be going to Oldham Sixth Form College to study biology, chemistry, maths and psychology.
The school was particularly pleased with pupils who had achieved grades far beyond their expectations.
Many students achieved creative BTECs as well as GCSEs in the traditional subjects.
Principal Nigel McQuoid said: “We are delighted with the wide range of successes included within these results, for those of all abilities and with a wide range of aspirations for the future.”
