Farewell to bridge-fall boy

THE funeral of a popular 14-year-old who died after falling from a motorway bridge will take place on Monday.
The service for Crompton House pupil Ben Fitchett will be held at St Mary’s Church, High Crompton, at 11.15am, followed by a private burial attended by members of the family.
A Book of Remembrance will be placed at the Shaw school once term starts.
The talented young musician plunged from the bridge at Broad Lane on to the M62 eastbound near to junction 20, close to the Oldham border, at 7.20am on Monday, August 19. He died at the scene.
There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the Rochdale teenager’s death and police have passed the case to the coroner.
Tributes have been left along the bridge, including flowers and scout shirts.
