Walk is right up our street
Date published: 03 September 2013
PERSONAL experience has inspired two former “Coronation Street” stars to put their best feet forward for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Jennifer James, who played barmaid Geena Gregory, and her husband Lee Boardman (the Street’s evil drug dealer Jez Quigley) officially launched the charity’s Walk Ten event at Tatton Park.
The 10k twilight walk takes place on Saturday at the stunning National Trust location as part of a host of fund-raisers throughout the UK sponsored by HomeServe.
The event starts at 6pm and participants can enjoy exclusive after-hours access to the beautiful grounds and deer park and watch the sunset while supporting Marie Curie nurses.
The event then continues into the evening with live music, picnics and a firework finale at 10pm.
Registration is £10 per person in advance and £20 on the night (under-16s go free).
To register, visit www.mariecurie.org.uk/TattonPark or call 0845-052 4184.
