Family in the swim for tragic Stephen
Date published: 03 September 2013
SWIMMING with sharks is not everyone’s idea of a good time but that’s exactly the fear that Stacey Arnold is willing to face. to reach a £2,000 charity target in memory of her partner Stephen Greaves.
The Derker welder died last September following a battle with stomach cancer. He was only 28.
Along with her uncle David Thomas, Stacey — who has a daughter, Keira, with Stephen — will be hoping to raise as much cash as possible for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, which cared for Stephen before he died.
They will be heading to the Blue Planet Aquarium in Cheshire on September 20, where they will spend two hours getting acquainted with scuba diving before being confronted with the creatures face to face.
There will be a fun day from 5pm until late on September 21 at Oldham Cricket Club.
Julie Smith, Stacey’s mum, said: ““If we could raise £2,000 that would be absolutely brilliant.” To sponsor the family visit www.justgiving.com/Stacey-Dave20.
