Great minds head for conference

THE full line-up of speakers for the borough’s first TEDx Oldham conference has been finalised.

It includes CERN scientist and expert on the Large Hadron Collider, Stephen Marsden, Dr Aravind Vijayaraghavan, lecturer in materials science at The University of Manchester and Hayley Flynn, writer of the award-winning Skyliner blog.

Oldham-based speakers include poet Mike Garry and Julie Cunningham, of the Rainy City Roller Girls.

TEDxOldham will take place on Thursday, October 24, in the performance space in Oldham Library and Lifelong Learning Centre from 10am until 5pm.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Co-operative Oldham Fund.
