ENERGETIC Jade Bradbury shows off her fancy footwork not just on the dance floor, but also in the boxing ring.

One week she is glamorous in her makeup and glitz, and the next she pulls on her boxing gloves and squares up in the ring.

The 14-year-old Saddleworth School pupil has just won the WKMA (World Krav Maga Association) British Thai boxing title, conquering her 52 kilo opponent Charlie Butler in the third round at a contest in Berkshire.

She trains for the tough sport at Higginshaw Thai Boxing Club with world, European and British champion, 16-year-old Joe Tomlin, who has 20 titles to his name, and his father, gym trainer Danny Tomlin.

But Jade, of Stoneleigh Road, Springhead, still manages to juggle her time to indulge her other passion — dancing, for which she trains at Pure Dance, Cromford Street, Derker.

Boxing club secretary Holly Tomlin, said: “Jade is doing really well. She has had two decision fights so far and won both of them.”

Jade is now preparing for a fight at the end of the month in Blackpool.

Her mother, Louise Wild, said: “Jade does freestyle and floor dancing, and enters all the competitions. She loves both boxing and dancing, and I think that’s great.”
