Smashing time by drunken reveller

A DRUNKEN reveller head-butted a glass door panel until it smashed when he was thrown out of an Oldham night club.

Oldham magistrates heard that Aaron Turner, of Poppy Road, St Mary’s, was asked to leave Liquid and Envy in Retiro Street after bouncers found him asleep at 3.30am on August 16. The 29-year-old was led to the door but struggled as bouncers tried to eject him.

As he reached the door, he started to head-butt the glass panel until it smashed.

He was then chased up Retiro Street by doormen and club staff who detained him until police arrived and he was arrested. Turner, who was not represented in court, pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal damage but said he had no recollection of the incident.

He told magistrates he was extremely sorry.

He was ordered to pay the night club £200 in compensation and £85 in costs.
