Bronze plaque tribute to tragic Jamie
Date published: 10 September 2013
A BRONZE plaque will be placed on a bench in Dunwood Park in memory of toddler Jamie Heaton, Shaw Parish Council has decided.
Jamie died in the horrific gas explosion that devastated Buckley Street in Shaw in June last year, when two houses were destroyed, many damaged and over 170 homes evacuated.
Jamie’s parents Michelle and Kenny Heaton are trying to raise £50,000 for his memorial fund — Jamie’s Something Special — to buy new playground equipment for Bullcote park, where the toddler took his first steps.
Kenny and Michelle and their two remaining children Jodie and Jack have now moved to a new home in Royton.
