Another suspected loan shark arrested

A THIRD person has been arrested in a crackdown on loan sharks in Oldham.
Two men aged 34 and 40, arrested on suspicion of illegal money lending, have been joined by a 40-year-old woman.
All three have been released on bail until December 17, while police make further inquiries.
The team, working in partnership with Oldham Council and assisted by Greater Manchester Police, executed warrants at two homes and seized a large amount of cash.
Nationally the illegal money lending teams have won 263 prosecutions leading to more than 167 years of prison sentences. Over £40.3 million worth of illegal debt has been written off for over 22,000 victims.
