Oldham MP Debbie Abrahams has praised Labour leader Ed Miliband’s speech at the party’s annual conference.
The Oldham East and Saddleworth MP said: “It was a great speech by Ed, demonstrating his ability to lead and setting out his vision that Britain can do better under Labour.
“He packed his speech with policies and initiatives: freezing energy bills, repealing the bedroom tax; freezing business rates; building 200,000 new homes a year; defending the future of the UK and saying that 16 and 17-year-olds should get the vote.
“Ed made it clear that David Cameron’s £3bn reorganisation has brought the NHS to a crisis point.”
But Conservative party chairman Grant Shapps said: “Nothing has changed. It’s the same old Labour.
“They still want more spending, more borrowing and more debt – exactly what got us into a mess in the first place.”
