A “VULNERABLE” man caught twice with hard drugs on him is to leave Oldham with his family to start a new life away from temptation.

Zahir Miah (22) escaped with a suspended prison sentence at Manchester Crown Court after Judge Timothy Mort said he accepted he had been used by others.

Miah, who had learning difficulties as a youngster, was naive and easily led, the court heard

Nicola Wells, prosecuting, said Miah was first arrested in March when police found “wraps” of heroin and cocaine worth over £900.

After being bailed, police again went to his home and found heroin worth £1,100. Miah, of Cotton Street, said he had been holding the drugs for others.

Tim Hopley, defending, said MIah lacked confidence, had no self-esteem and was vulnerable and susceptible to others wanting to take advantage of him.

He said: “He recognises the seriousness of what he has done. He and his family intend to move completely away from the area following this.”

Judge Mort told him: “You are somebody who can be used, but you have to accept some responsibility.

Miah admitted two counts of heroin possession with intent to supply and one concerning cocaine. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison, suspended for 18 months, and a probation order.
