Royal Oldham to focus on running a healthier operation
Date published: 01 October 2013
A MAJOR drive has begun to boost the quality and efficiency of operating theatres at the Royal Oldham Hospital.
“Transforming Theatres” is a major part of Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust’s five-year quality strategy.
The trust, which also runs North Manchester General Hospital, Fairfield General Hospital in Bury and Rochdale Infirmary, has 39 operating theatres which carry out thousands of operations every year.
The new programme will look at the efficiency of the theatres, pre-operative assessment services and cancellation rates to improve the quality of care for patients.
