Coliseum: hit show - and the theatre wants more of them
Oldham Coliseum supporters have helped to raise £80,000 in two months, to help the theatre mount bigger and better shows like the current smash-hit “Chicago”.
The Your Coliseum Needs You campaign will fund ever-more ambitious stage productions, and help bosses implement a new teaching arm for the theatre.
Supporters have donated more than £40,000, and Arts Council England has pledged to match that and any extra the theatre raises over the next year.
Coliseum development manager John Edwards said: “People are passionate about theatre in Oldham and we want to continue what we have been doing for so many years on stage, as well as expanding our contribution to the community.”
