Join NHS panel to give out £600k
Date published: 04 October 2013
OLDHAM patients have the chance to help to decide how a £600,000 health innovation fund should be spent.
The Oldham Clinical Commissioning Group is inviting the public to apply to join a Dragons’ Den- style panel to hear business proposals for improving local healthcare.
Bidders will be invited to pitch their case to the panel, and could secure the investment needed to turn their idea to reality.
Chief clinical officer and innovation lead at the CCG, Dr Ian Wilkinson, said: “Inviting patient representatives to sit alongside our management team and industry leaders will provide us with an opportunity to tap into considerable local knowledge and first-hand experience. They will be the eyes and ears of the public.”
The search for panel members will be launched at Oldham CCG headquarters tomorrow. If you are interested in joining contact Mark Drury at mark.drury@nhs.net before October 31.
