Test run for town-centre trams
Date published: 03 October 2013
TRAMS will be seen in Oldham Town centre on Sunday as testing takes place on the new Metrolink line.
Checks on the line’s stations and information and sensor systems will start overnight. Some minor road restrictions at junctions will be imposed as the tram passes through stations.
Crucial junctions, such as the Manchester Street roundabout, will be restricted for only a short period.
Tests will then continue during the daytime. Road and pedestrian crossings will remain open.
