Woodland path ambush ordeal
Date published: 04 October 2013
ROBBERS viciously assaulted two men for a mobile phone — then went back to demand the victim unlock it.
The two victims, aged 19 and 21, were walking from Butler Street, Chadderton along a shortcut down a woodland path to Fields New Road when they were ambushed by three men.
The attackers punched the pair in the face, knocked them to the ground and threatened them with a knife before stealing two sets of keys, an iphone, a bank card and cash.
After walking away, one of the robbers returned and demanded the owner unlock the stolen iphone.
One of the offenders was black, about 5ft 11in, of slim build, and spoke with a London accent.
His two accomplices were both white. One had dirty blond hair combed to the side, and wore a sports top with a dark beige triangle across the shoulders.
