Hate crime the target in new push
Date published: 08 October 2013
A LEADING charity has joined Oldham Council to give people a better understanding of hate crime.
Stop Hate UK will discuss hate crime and the services available to help victims at a meeting in Oldham on Wednesday (Oct 9, 9.30am-12.30pm).
The session will provide delegates with an understanding of hate crime and the people it affects, and will consider barriers to reporting such crime and support provided for victims.
The police and the council are urging people to report incidents to charities such as Stop Hate UK even if they don’t want to report their case to police.
Wednesday’s meeting is free to attend, but places are limited so early booking is advised. Call 0161-770 5190 for information.
