STRUCK off . . . disgraced Grace Adeleye
A NURSE found guilty of killing a three-week-old baby in a botched circumcision has been barred from practising in the UK.
Grace Adeleye (67) of Sarnia Court, Salford, was found guilty of the manslaughter by gross negligence of Chadderton baby Goodluck Caubergs in December last year.
Adeleye, who also worked as a midwife, carried out the procedure at his home using a pair of scissors, forceps and olive oil and was paid £100 by the baby’s Nigerian parents.
The boy died of blood loss at the Royal Oldham Hospital on April 17.
Adeleye was jailed for 21 months, suspended for two years after a trial at Manchester Crown Court.
Adeleye, originally from Nigeria, has now been barred from ever practising in the UK after a Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) hearing in London.
The striking-off order prevents her from ever working as a nurse in this country.
