Date published: 11 October 2013
A community-based financial services business is launching a new branch in Royton.
Oldham Credit Union (OCU) and Royton District Partnership have joined forces to improve the financial wellbeing of local people.
OCU provides anyone who lives and works in the borough with access to straightforward financial services.
The not-for-profit savings and loans co-operative, through which members pool their savings and make loans to each other, is a vital service for low-income households.
A free £5 deposit will be provided to the first 20 Royton residents to open accounts at the launch event at 10am tomorrow (Thursday) at Royton Town Hall.
Anyone attending will gain access to information on easy-access savings accounts, affordable and competitive loans, pre-paid credit cards, ethical saving which are directly reinvested in the local community and much more.
