Chance to question the Cabinet
Date published: 11 October 2013
Oldhamers can get involved in Local Democracy Week by submitting a question to Oldham Council’s Cabinet members.
A special Public Question Time (6.45-7.45pm, October 17) will be streamed live on the council website.
This will follow a similarly-streamed Youth Council question time (5.30pm-6.30pm) — in which young people can put questions to council and police representatives
Local Democracy Week is a European-wide event from October 14-20 to encourage more people to participate in the democratic process
This year’s theme is town centres; the event will focus on questions about reinvigorating them — but questions can be asked on any subject
“This shows our commitment to open democracy and making it as straightforward as possible for residents to get involved. We want to know what people think, how they’d do things differently and how they think we’re doing.”
The session can be watched live on the council’s website, www.oldham.gov.uk — or you can also attend in person. Submit questions — up to 6.30pm on October 17 — by email to localdemocracy@oldham.gov.uk; at www.facebook.com/loveoldham, or by tweeting directly to @OldhamQT.
To book your place at the event email: localdemocracy@oldham.gov.uk.
