Sgt Tony Isaacs
A POLICE sergeant has been charged with common assault following an incident at Chadderton Police station in May.
Anthony Isaacs (47) of Oldham has been put on restricted duties and will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on October 28.
The charges relate to an incident involving Sgt Isaacs and detainee Ali Rashedi (24) who has also been issued with a summons for common assault and is due to appear at the court on October 29.
Mr Rashedi is believed to have been locked up by other officers before Sgt Isaacs went in to talk to him about his aggressive behaviour. A brawl broke out between them.
Mr Rashedi is currently in Strangeways prison for another offence.
