Tom Kasprowicz: half-marathon man
A FITNESS fanatic celebrating his 50th birthday by running six half marathons across Europe is one of the dozens of people signed up for this Sunday’s Oldham Milltown to Moors run.
Tom Kafprowicz, from Royton, returned from Zagreb in Croatia last Wednesday. He has also run in Germany and is due to run in Poland next week.
The keen runner celebrates his birthday today. He decided to take on the challenge rather than have a birthday party!
Tom has been a distance runner for 35 years, so didn’t need to do any special training for the feat.
“There’s great camaraderie among runners,” he said. “I’ve really enjoyed going around Europe.”
The British Airways employee’s first half-marathon was in Macclesfield in September; he flew to Nuremberg in Germany four days later for a second run. His final event will be in Cheshire in November.
The gruelling Milltown to Moors half marathon will see up to 500 runners take part. Entrants have come from as far afield as Southend-on-Sea and London.
