OLDHAM Athletic has handed CCTV footage of Carlisle United supporters to Cumbria police after visiting fans were ejected during problems at Boundary Park at the weekend.
A small group of away followers kicked an advertising hoarding apart and threatened stewards.
One Latics supporter said: “When Latics were awarded what turned out to be the match-winning penalty, the Carlisle fans got annoyed and one of them was thrown out, from what I saw. Then a small group, three or four, goaded and threatened the stewards throughout the rest of the game.
“They kept kicking an advertising hoarding until it split apart.
“At half-time, two police officers spoke to the Carlisle supporters.
“While one of them was quieter during the second half, the others behaved just the same. They could have been arrested after 10 minutes but they got away with it.”
Neil Joy, Oldham Athletic’s chief executive, said: “Two Carlisle fans were ejected from the ground and CCTV footage capturing the whole incident will be passed on to Cumbria police.”
