Date published: 22 October 2013
OLDHAM RL has warded off the latest move by the taxman to have the club wound up.
A winding-up petition sought by HMRC was dismissed at London’s High Court yesterday, which followed a stay of execution last month in which the club was given 21 days to pay off its £10,000 bill...
Lawyers for the tax authorities reeturned to court to formally dismiss the petition. The club was ordered to pay costs.
The club faced three similar petitions in 2010, all of them also settled in full.
