Join election race for youth council
Date published: 25 October 2013
CANDIDATES are being sought to become members of Oldham Youth Council.
The body involves around 60 youngsters aged 11-21 from across the borough.
The organisation was the first of its kind to be officially recognised by a local authority, enabling its members to raise issues that affect the young people of Oldham.
Oldham Council is looking for motivated, creative, dynamic and energetic young people who want to make a difference to stand in upcoming elections.
Anyone of the right age who lives, works or studies in the borough is eligible.
Elections take place from January 27-February 21, with voting at polling stations in schools, colleges and youth centres.
To add your name, submit a manifesto outlining why you would be a good youth councillor and why people should vote for you. The deadline is December 2.
To learn more on how to submit a manifesto, contact Jodie Barber: Jodie.Barber@oldham.gov.uk.
