THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLD Jack Cambell-Smith helps Sara Hewitt and Andrew Corbie to open the Tommyfield Tardis
JACK Campbell-Smith knows every line of every Dr Who episode, his bedroom is full of Dr Who posters and his shelves are heaving with Dr Who figures.
So when the 13-year-old Blue Coat School pupil was asked to officially open the Tommyfield Tardis in Oldham town centre, there was no hiding his delight.
The Tardis — an exhibition of Dr Who memorabilia on the indoor market — signalled the start of a week of Dr Who themed events to mark the Time Lord’s 50th anniversary.
Jack’s mum, Liz Campbell, said: “Jack is without a doubt Oldham’s biggest Dr Who fan. He watches the DVDs all the time and his room is full of Dr Who stuff. He’s even started a Dr Who fan club at school.
“He has autism so he doesn’t like leaving the house as he isn’t happy in crowds. It takes something major, like a Dr Who exhibition, to get him out and about.”
Jack was presented with a Dalek money box, a figurine of the 11th Dr Who (Matt Smith) and a signed portrait of former Dr Who David Tennant by local artist Matt Farrington.
He said: “This is so amazing.
