Plaque to mark 150 years

SHAW and Crompton will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Oldham to Rochdale railway line on Saturday when the Mayor unveils a commemorative plaque.
Mayor of Oldham, Councillor John Hudson, and chairman of Shaw and Crompton parish council, Councillor David Murphy, will attend the event from 10.45am.
Councillor Hudson will board a tram from Oldham Mumps to Shaw and Crompton where a ceremony will be held to commemorate the milestone.
A display of photographs, press cuttings and other lmemorabilia will be exhibited at Crompton Library throughout November to mark the anniversary.
