Family with a yen for baking

THE oldest family bakery in Greater Manchester has been filmed by the camera crew of a Japanese television station.
Robinsons Bakery in Failsworth, which has been in the family since 1864, will feature on Tokyo TV channel NHK.
The Japanese crew filmed the family making their best-selling Manchester tarts in their bakery and selling them from their Piccadilly Gardens market stall.
Sixth generation baker Grace Robinson (26) said: “They were shocked that we are an entire family still baking together and I myself am very proud of it.”
The family team consists of sisters Grace, Sarah (30), Emma (31), dad David and mum Sue, who run the bakery that will be 150 years old next year.
The Robinsons’ will appear on Japanese TV series “City Walk” which will feature a number of different Manchester cuisines from establishments across the city.
Grace said that despite the odd difference in opinion, the Robinson team work very well together.
She said: We are very excited to have been involved in the filming and look forward to seeing the finished programme.”
