A CONTROVERSIAL application to build homes on protected land at Stoneswood Farm, in Delph, has been rejected by planners.
Agent Alan Chorlton said 18-24 homes - from flats to terraced, semi-detached and detached houses -were being considered for the “low-density” development.
Objectors, including Saddleworth Parish Council, raised concerns about the effect on wildlife and a loss of green area in Delph.
PLANS to turn a large, semi-detached home into 11 bedsit flats have been deferred.
The plan would have created 11 separate bedrooms, some with en-suite bathrooms, plus a communal lounge, kitchen, bathroom and laundry at the house in. Ripponden Road.
The council is to talk to the developer over concerns that the plans suggest six bedrooms would share one bathroom.
