Then Oldham College is looking to hear from you...
To celebrate it’s 120th anniversary, the college is calling for past students to share their memories.
Oldham’s Big Reunion will be holding special get-togethers and events for former students, with special previews of the new college buildings and a chance to be part of a legacy exhibition early next year.
College principal Alun Francis explained: “We would like to hear from former students who can tell us about what they studied, where they went to work and what the college was like.
“We know there are generations of Oldhamers who have been educated and trained here, some still in the town and others all over the world.
“Their stories will tell us about their experiences, but also help to capture the changing role of the college.”
The college first opened as a science and arts establishment in 1893 before becoming a technical college in 1954. Technical was dropped from the name in 1984 to reflect the college’s growing range of courses. Over the past 10 years more than 100,000 students have passed through the doors.
Famous former students include actors Suranne Jones, Sarah Lancashire and Jane Horrocks as well as performer Suzanne Shaw and author Alan Lynch.
