OLDHAM’S three MPs have all had the cost of energy bills for heating second homes paid for by the taxpayer.
An investigation carried out by the Sunday Mirror claims they are among 340 MPs who between them have claimed £200,000 a year for heating second homes.
Yesterday’s paper revealed Debbie Abrahams, Labour MP for Oldham East and Saddleworth, claimed £885.77 in 12 months, Michael Meacher, Labour MP for Oldham West and Royton claimed £392.09, and David Heyes, who represents Ashton, including Failsworth, for Labour, claimed £257.85.
