FOUR Creative Media Production students from Oldham College have been named winners of a competition to create new marketing campaigns for upcoming BBC Three programmes.
Luis Cross, Kieron Spencer, Kieron Cross and Joe Hunt were presented with trophies and gift vouchers after seeing off stiff competition from 15 other teams from across Greater Manchester.
The 16 to 18-year-olds had to pitch their ideas to senior BBC managers.
Sarah Webb, curriculum leader from the college, said: “The day was an excellent opportunity to develop our links with the BBC and we were extremely proud of the work the students produced.”
Nicola Crowther, senior project manager at BBC Outreach, added: “The Oldham College students were chosen because of their funny and original concepts and their innovative suggestions for using social media.
“Through this event we wanted to provide a valuable and rewarding experience for the young people and at the same time learn about the issues that are important to this audience.”
The triumphant quartet have been invited to the BBC’s flagship Media-CityUK site at Salford Quays for a celebratory lunch and the chance to learn more about BBC North.
