Norman Stoller presents grants and loans to boost up-and-coming trio
THREE young business entrepreneurs involved in photography, clothing and digital technology have been awarded grants or loans from the new Oldham Enterprise Fund.
Ryan Davies, Eric Bishyika and Hassan Iqbal received cash awards from businessman Norman Stoller CBE during a breakfast event at the Mahdlo youth zone.
The trio were congratulated on their fledgling businesses and they called on other youngsters to take advantage of the help now available to people wanting to work for themselves.
The Oldham Enterprise Fund was recently launched to support the next generation of entrepreneurs achieve their ambitions by providing financial and expert support.
Mr Stoller has donated £1million to the scheme while Oldham Council has pledged to guarantee every 18-year-old school leaver an employment or training opportunity.
The fund is a vital part of the council’s Get Oldham Working campaign to create 2,015 new job opportunities by 2015.
More grant and loan decisions will be made in the coming months.
