Callum Harrison: swim hero
A FAILSWORTH teenager has been hailed a hero after saving a drowning toddler.
Callum Harrison (13) was swimming with friends at Failsworth Pool when he saw a four year old run into the deep end.
As the lifeguard sounded the alarm, Callum swam towards the struggling toddler and got him to the side of the pool.
The Failsworth Sports College pupil, who lives in Albert Street West, admitted “I don’t normally go. I just went for a bit of fun — I’m glad I did.”
Paul Winrow, Oldham Community Leisure’s head of operations, said: “Everyone at OCL would like to praise Callum.”
Callum got a month’s swim pass as a reward
