QATARI dream: Hulme Grammar School players are off to Qatar to compete in a tournament
Young footballers from Hulme Grammar School have been invited to compete in an international tournament in Qatar!
The school’s under-18s were leaving today for the trip of a lifetime, following an invitation from Martin Hope, director of the British Council in Qatar.
Angus Hurst, head of PE at the school, said: “I am looking forward to experiencing a different culture -. and to feel part of the process of the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.”
The team will compete in a knockout tournament over five days, returning before Christmas.
They will also visit museums and other cultural events, and experience Qatar’s national day of celebrations on December 18 to mark the founding of Qatar in 1878.
