Foxdenton plan to tackle traffic
Date published: 13 December 2013
FOXDENTON is set to benefit from government money to tackle road congestion under measures announced by Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin today.
A £4.4m scheme will create a new access and service road from Broadway into the Foxdenton employment site. The road is expected to be complete by summer 2015.
Foxdenton is one of 25 schemes around the country given funding because they can improve congestion quickly and dramatically.
Improvements will also be made to the M62 J19 near Rochdale, including the installation of new traffic lights, to facilitate a new link road between the M62 J19 and the A6045 at an estimated to cost £1.5 million.
