Film shows the good and bad of health care
Date published: 17 December 2013
A documentary detailing the struggle of Oldhamers living with chronic health conditions has been launched to help local NHS services improve.
Oldham Clinical Commissioning Group has been collecting feedback from patients since its inception in April.
The group ran two events to see how Oldhamers rate the treatment they get, and as a result a film — “Wrapping Care Around You” — now highlights the good and bad or local healthcare.
Five Oldhamers suffering from a variety of chronic conditions are featured, giving viewers an insight into living with the day-to-day impact of their condition.
Denis Gizzi, managing director of the CCG, said: “Patient engagement is one of the CCG’s top priorities and will continue to be into 2014. The services we plan and buy can’t work properly without us talking and, more importantly, listening to the patients who use them.”
