FOUR science students who took part in university research placements have received national awards.
Rebecca Leach, Daniel Stanley, Ysabelle Strutt and Harry Bartley were presented with Gold CREST Awards at an event at Manchester University. CREST (Creativity in Engineering, Science and Technology) is Britain’s largest awards scheme for project work in the subjects.
The quartet each took part in four-week work placements with PhD students at Manchester, Salford and Huddersfield universities and produced a project based on their findings.
Andrew Hodson, biology tutor and STEM (science technology, engineering and maths) co-ordinator at the college, said: “This is a fantastic achievement and I’d like to congratulate the four students involved.”
